Motoneuron Outpatient Clinic at University Hospital Würzburg. Head: Prof. Dr. med. Daniel Zeller (Senior Physician). Head of Clinical Studies: Christine Leypold. Comprehensive care for ALS and SMA patients including drug therapy counseling, aids counseling, relative/family support, communication aids adaptation, swallowing diagnostics and therapy, mechanical cough aid adaptation, and home ventilation systems. Close cooperation with Institute for Human Genetics at University of Würzburg. Active in multicenter randomized therapy studies including ROCK-ALS (Fasudil vs Placebo) and MT-1186 (Oral Edaravone). Scientific research: compensatory CNS mechanisms in ALS. Institute of Clinical Neurobiology (Prof. Sendtner) conducts basic research on cell culture and mouse models.
